The St Lucia Wetlands estuary is the largest wetland in Africa. Some of the bird species you'll see can be found nowhere else in Africa.
Karoo
The Karoo earns its name from the Hottentot for 'thirstland'. Two hundred million years ago, when the southern hemisphere was a super-continent called Gondwana, the Karoo was actually a low-lying marsh in which dinosaurs and early mammals thrived.
